After the first video/trailer/introduction it loads for like 3 seconds than game freezes. Game is broken.. If it's not already obvious from the title this is a walking simulator with light puzzles and a massive superiority complex. It start off seemingly trying to tell three stories at once (that of the player character's journey; something about ♥♥♥♥ing pirates on a secret island plus a conversation between two parents about their sick child) via the ever-so subtle mechanism of 'having chunks of dialogue just ♥♥♥♥ing floating there right in front of you at random as you move around the level'. It very quickly gets pared down without explanation to the main story of the parents at which point it becomes exactly the kind of thing you've see loads of times before and done much better. The graphics are nice enough in places but the whole thing has a general low quality feel to it and the levels aren't coherent interesting places to explore, just random stuff thrown in to lead you from one bit of floating text to the next. Oh, and there's a 'run' button which increases your walking pace and there's never any reason not to use it so you just end up♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off at having to hold it down for literally the entire game.. Another game I really wanted to play but alas... game designed for right-handed people. WASD for movement for lefties is very difficult and no way in-game to rebind keys.. In the roughly 47 minutes I played this game:I determined it was a walking simulator/straightforward "walk and look at pretty things" game.Realized it was very likely an indie game about dealing with death.Got stuck in the scenery twice and fell through the floor once.Realized the third time I could not actually extract myself from the scenery.Weighted my desired to play Yet Another Indie Game About Death against the time and effort it would take to start again.Stopped playing.. Mind=blown. Play it. Now.. Overall, pretty and pretty depressing.Walking sim, collecting the picture pieces is too much of a chore for the achievement because it's too dark with low contrast so exploring is tedious, the environment too samey. The voice acting is good but the script is poor. The puzzles are a chore, you can walk past many of them and I most certainly did.I hate to beat on an indie game that's clearly had some effort put in but it's a relief to finish the game rather than feeling like any kind of accomplishment.. A very beutiful game, well presented story.
